SUNDAY 4TH OCTOBER
TIN - THE MOVIE (2015): 2.00PM - 6.00PM £5
We're pretty seriously chuffed that the MIRACLE THEATRE are coming to screen their stunning new movie at the Seven Stones Inn for the Film Festival. The Director, Bill Scott, will also be here to introduce the film and floor a 'Q & A' after the screening.
West Cornwall, 1895. A once-glorious tin mine, on which the whole town has depended for generations, is on its last legs.
A weather-beaten opera company arrives to give a performance of Beethoven’s “Fidelio” in the town hall and finds itself tangled up in a scam to offload worthless shares in the mine.
When the mine unexpectedly yields up new treasures, melodrama starts to spill over into
everyday life, reputations crumble and any notion of fair play is abandoned.
The fate of the whole community rests on the courage of one feisty young maid.
Made in Cornwall and based on a true story, Miracle Theatre’s highly anticipated feature film stars Jenny Agutter, Dudley Sutton and Ben Luxon alongside Helen Bendell, Ben Dyson, Steve Jacobs, Dean Nolan, and Jason Squibb.
O' BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU? (2000) 12: 8.00PM - 10.00PM £FREE
Loosely based on Homer's "Odyssey," the movie deals with the picaresque adventures of Ulysses Everett McGill and his companions Delmar and Pete in 1930s Mississipi. Sprung from a chain gang and trying to reach Everett's home to recover the buried loot of a bank heist they are confronted by a series of strange characters--among them sirens, a cyclops, bank robber George "Baby Face" Nelson (very annoyed by that nickname), a campaigning governor and his opponent, a KKK lynch mob, and a blind prophet who warns the trio that "the treasure you seek shall not be the treasure you find."
Stars: George Clooney, John Turturro, Tim Blake Nelson
